I'm Back

Alright, I haven't posted here for at least a year now...and I think it will be good for me to keep an updated blog for a while. I have missed blogging, but during that time I have done lots of other things.

I joined a fraternity.
I got laid off.
I started a Roth IRA.

I joined Chi Psi, right here on the Georgia Tech campus at 150 4th st. I have really enjoyed myself so far and it is definitely one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. We are relatively small, but hopefully we can change that as I am the current recruitment chair.

Yeah, I got laid off from 3DScanCo. They were paying my salary with loans, and they couldn't afford to keep me. So now I am on the lookout for another co-op job. If anyone has any co-op opportunities, I would be more than happy to apply for them!

I figured it would be good to save for the future, so I decided to open up a Roth IRA. I think so far with the market as its been I am about breaking even, but I think with time I will get the results I am looking for.

Well, I need to keep this thing more update more frequently so be on the lookout for more frequent and relevant posts!

In the summertime

Wow! Summer is almost here, I can feel the buzz in the dorms. Everyone is acting crazy...and so am I. I have so much work to do this week...most of it is fin. I still have to finish up a paper, and finalize a presentation for my autocad class. Whew! At least the real exams are done with. Hopefully I finished off this semester well. I really dont have that much to write, except for that I can't wait to go home. City smells are killing me.

Rants

Wow, it has definitely been too long between posts for me. It seems that I never have time to do anything other than study, and not get enough sleep. I am always so tired now, I cant hardly walk to my classes without wanting to sleep in that warm sun. Thank god that dead week is coming up, that means I get to listen to some good music in English class, and study for the rest of my classes.

I can't believe that I am going to be moving out of this tiny room soon. I feel like I am just getting accomodated to it, and now I have to move. I sort of want to come back next year and see who is living here. On the topic of housing, the Georgia Tech Housing office has yet to notify me of my living quarters next semester, so I guess I am living on the streets...how exciting.

Ah summer, I am co-oping with the U.S. Government, hopefully working with helicopters. I think its going to be lots of fun and a good learning experience. If only I could do this instead of school...that would make my day(s). But, right now I think I need to get some sleep, because I am going to the Georgia Aquarium tomorrow.

Schoooooool

Wow, school is really taking a toll on my sleep schedule. Last night I went to bed at 10:30. ON A SATURDAY. I think that is a pretty good indication of how tired I have been the past week. I am working on my 1770 project which involves way too much work. Hopefully easter weekend will be a little less hectic. I gotta get back to drawing more gears and covers for this engine though.

Newest Music

This week has been hectic. Getting ready for two tests, and turning in a paper. The work never stops, just like at the post office where the letters never stop. I'm actually taking a break from studying, and posting from the fifth floor of the library. So far, Love Medicine has been a wonderful book to read, although it feels like I have nothing to add during the discussions in class. Maybe I am taking the book too literally, or maybe I just don't want to say anything, I don't know. But, listening to what others to say really opens my mind to the possibilities of this book. I reall do enjoy it.

I have just re-discovered Bob Dylan, and have been listening pretty heavily to all of his albums that I own, as well as some classical music and the occasional Allman Brothers sprinkled in. I really enjoy listening to their music, because it all seems to come from this deep passion for life. All of their songs not only have amazing musical talent incorporated, but also the feel behind the music is wonderful. Just like Stevie Ray Vaughn's Texas Flood, its all feel.

Well, I should probably get back to studying.....maybe.

Title

Oh my, I have yet to think of a title for Scrivener's paper. He specifically drilled into our heads that we had to have a title and subtitle. I can come up with a few that aren't that amazing, but none have really had that zing I'm looking for. Scrivener asked us in class on tuesday why we needed to have a title, and I couldn't help but smile a little because his question reminded me of one of his earlier posts about the previous paper. Oh well, hopefully inspiration will hit me like a truck.

School has been moving. Its seems like it has been a couple of days since school actually started, but I guess time moves slower when you are bored, because its only monday. Unfortunately, on a completely unrelated topic, I left my earbuds at home and am currently headphone less. My iPod is screaming abuse, and my ears have to listen to idle chatter on the stinger and the terrible traffic on North Avenue.

Man, I just had an idea. I wish I could write my papers like I write my blogs. I guess what I'm saying is that blogging is fun, and that I am learning different writing styles and gaining new ideas from other bloggers. I really can't thank Scrivener enough. His blog really helped me to get motivated. Last semester I had Jonathan Goodwin, and I found his blog. To me it seemed very heavily geared towards academics. The difference between Scrivener's and Prof. Goodwin's blogs are that Scrivener seems to have a certain element of normality. He does after all have a family.

Whew, that was a long period of just me rambling, more than likely caused by the fact that it is 2 in the morning and I have an 8 o'clock. Oh well. Goodnight and Goodluck.
